Designing a Yoga-inspired Extraordinary Life: Setting Goals for the Year as a Busy Mom

And just like that, January is already (almost) over! The saying "the days are long but the years are short" feels SO true to me these days. How about you?

So what do we do about that feeling? Do we try to slow time down? Do we just ruminate on all the things we have or haven't done up to this point in our lives? Or do we dwell on the future and worry about how things will unfold?

My hope for you (and myself!) is that we do none of those things!

Try these instead:

  • Embrace gratitude as often as possible for all the things you have accomplished and all the lessons you have learned.
  • Feel optimistic about the bright future ahead of you
  • Live with intention to make meaningful (even small) progress toward your goals.

That is what this week's blog post is all about. Designing your life with intention so that you feel confident that your day-to-day actions are aligned with your greater ambitions by using the skills and tools offered in yoga.

There is a concept in yoga called Sankalpa - which is sorta like a "goal" but has more to do with understanding your heart's deepest desires and aligning your life - actions, goals, behaviors, habits - with moving toward those desires.

We're not worrying about punishing ourselves for deviating from our New Year's resolutions. Instead, we're uncovering what we care about most, and letting those values be the guiding light to what we do every day.

Check out the blog post here!

Note: this blog post is actually accompanied by a video to help you uncover your own Sankalpa and connect with your heart's deepest desires. Enjoy!

That is all I have for you this week! Remember to honor your self-care by taking small breaks to breathe, or rest, as much as you can! You deserve it, you need it, and it helps.

Much love to you,

~ Shauna
