Hey there, Reader!
Upon doing my reflection of 2025 last week, I thought about the many people that I have learned from over the past year. So, I thought I would take a moment to give them a quick shoutout in case you might be interested in learning from them as well!
This is a hodgepodge of categories from yoga and spirituality, to news and current events, to attempting to be an online business owner.
If you'd like to share anyone with me that you're learning from, I'd love to hear about them!
Here it goes!
Yoga Stuff
- I practice online yoga using the Apple Fitness+ app (I really like Jessica, Dice, and Jonelle) and the Yoga Renew app (I really like their courses & series). I also have taken some yoga classes through our Tonal workout system (but I mostly use that for strength training - I love working out with Coaches Kristina Centenari, Joe Redonis, and Ackeem ).
- I recently started listening to the Yoga Land podcast. I really like the Mentor Sessions podcast with yoga teacher Francesca Cervero, and I've started listening to The Funny Thing About Yoga podcast, which I find enlightening and entertaining.
Buddhism & Meditation
- Last year, I finished Dan Harris' 10% Happier book, and I really enjoyed it. Now, I'm reading his book Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics, which I'm also enjoying. He has a podcast too, which is great, but I am not able to catch it as often as I'd like.
- I follow Ethan Nichtern's podcast The Road Home to learn more about Buddhism - he's got some books I'm hoping to read soon (I've got SOO many books I want to read, lol), and I would love to join his Yearlong Buddhist Study program, but that will have to wait.
- I've started using Insight Timer for my daily guided meditations, but I've also used Calm and Apple Fitness+ meditations. All are good.
Online Business
- I consider James Wedmore to be one of my online business guides - I follow his podcast Mind Your Business, and I've taken his trainings. I continue to learn a lot from him and really appreciate his perspective.
- Ashley Hagen is a fellow yoga teacher who teaches other yoga teachers how to start/run their own online yoga business. I consider her to be a great example, and I've learned a lot from her about starting my YouTube channel.
- I have taken some courses from Courtney Foster-Donahue and really appreciate her perspective and teaching style as well.
- Susanne Rieker is another online yoga business coach I follow. It was through her I learned more about the Skool community platform (which I am really enjoying!), and I'm following some of her training to set up a new website (in due time.... lol).
- I follow Liz Wilcox for email marketing. You might know her from Survivor, but I've been listening to her talk about email marketing since way before that. I appreciate her sense of keeping things simple!
Other Life Stuff
- I follow the Stand Up with Pete Dominick daily podcast. It is the only podcast I've listened to every episode of. I really appreciate his daily news updates and attention to staying mindful and optimistic. I find it very difficult to keep up with everything going on in the world, so I appreciate that he gives me the highlight reel. I align with his progressive viewpoints pretty consistently. I appreciate his perspective and access to reliable experts on relevant subject matters.
I know there are a ton more that I'm leaving out. Those are just the ones that came to the top of my mind so I thought I'd share.
Let me know who you're following and learning from or if you're familiar with any of these folks!
Have a great weekend!
